Sports2016 National Primary Schools Track & Field Championship results

BELIZE CITY, Thurs. Nov. 17, 2016–The National Primary Schools Track & Field Championship was held on Thursday, November 10, at the Marion Jones Sports Complex in Belize City. Primary schools from all six districts were represented in different age/sex categories: Infant “B” Female (9-11 years), Infant “B” Male (9-11 years), Junior “C” Female (12-14 years), and Junior “C” Male (12-14 years).

For the Infant “B” Female and Infant “B” Male, events included: 60m, 100m, 800m, Shot Put (3kg), and Long Jump; the Relay 4 x 50m Mix – combined male and female runners in each team.

Both the Junior “C” Female and Junior “C” Male participated in the 100m, 400m, 1200m, Shot Put (3kg), Long Jump, Baseball Throw, as well as the Relay 4 x 100m.

At the end of the activities, medal counts by district were as follows:

The organizers also selected MVP athletes for each category as follows:

MVP Infant “B” Female (9-11 years) – Terrylee Arana of Stann Creek.

MVP Infant “B” Male (9-11 years) – Jace Garcia of Belize District.

MVP Junior “C” Female (12-14 years) – Eden Nunez of Stann Creek.

MVP Junior “C” Male (12-14 years) – Ornell Reyes of Stann Creek.
