NA LUM CAH VILLAGE, Toledo District, Thurs. Aug. 23, 2018– There are reports coming out of Toledo that a little girl died after being struck by lightning.
Although very few details are available at this time, reports indicate that Sylvia Bol, 9, was standing under a cohune tree for shelter from the rain while her mother was washing clothes in a nearby creek. The lightning that struck her caused severe burns all over her body.
Bol was pronounced dead just after 5 p.m. There was another student who was standing nearby who also suffered minor injuries.
