Aaron Cassanova shot six times on Mahogany Street

CrimeAaron Cassanova shot six times on Mahogany Street
On Tuesday night around 8:30, gunshots echoed in the Mahogany Street area near Tow Tow grocery shop. After the shooter had fled the area, a man was left lying on the street. He had received a number of gunshot wounds.

The man, Aaron Cassanova, 34, was hit a total of six times. Cassanova, who was admitted to ward at the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital in a critical condition, said that his strength is what has kept him alive.

“The first bullet hit me on my right hand”, Cassanova told Amandala from his hospital bed this evening. He said that he was shot twice in his hand, once in his abdomen, and three times in his back. He said that his doctor told him that one of his lungs had collapsed and that they are trying to deal with that.

When asked if he knows the person who shot him and why he was shot, Cassanova said that he was riding his bicycle and that he had just pulled out of a yard and was on the street when he realized that someone was behind him.

“I turned around and this person, who was on a bicycle as well, asked me where I was from, and by the time I answered, he pulled out a handgun. I realized that this person was going to shoot me. There was nothing that I could do.”

Cassanova said that he has changed his life and does not “get into trouble” anymore. He has served time in prison for robbery and was once a notorious figure in the City’s street.

Police reported that they are investigating this latest shooting incident. But, so far, no one has been detained or charged in connection with Cassanova’s shooting.
