Veteran boxing trainer and Federation official Pedro “Ducho” Thomas visited Amandala this afternoon to report on a successful boxing card of six fights between Belizean and Mexican fighters on Friday, November 18, in San Pedro. The event was promoted by the San Pedro Boxing Club under the auspices of the Belize Boxing Federation.
  
All six bouts were in the amateur category, each scheduled for four rounds of two minutes each, with one minute rest in between rounds. The judges were all from Belize City. Four of the bouts were decided by points, with two ending by technical knockout (TKO).   Belizean boxers won four bouts and lost two.
  
In the first bout, at 124 lbs, Belize’s Jimmy Polonio won a decision over Mexican Pedro Ceosusro. The second fight, at 132 lbs, saw Belize’s Gilbert Romero losing by TKO to Mexican Rene Ojao. In the third bout, at 136 lbs, Belizean Max Williams won by TKO over Mexican Francisco Rodriguez. The fourth fight was at 147 lbs, and Belize’s Horace Cadle lost on points to Mexican Vincent Penor. The fifth bout, at 158 lbs, saw Belize’s Mohammed Harmouch post a decision win over Mexican Rojoe Flores. And in the sixth and final fight, at 162 lbs, Belizean Sherman Galvez won by decision over Mexican Jose Pechott.
  
The event got under way at 8:00 p.m. and concluded around 11:30 p.m.
