SAN PEDRO–No one has been arrested as yet for the shooting of Ivan Aldana, 27, of San Pedrito, San Pedro, due to a lack of cooperation by the victim.
San Pedro police said that their investigation led to a man in San Pedro, who was detained, but there was no cooperation from Aldana, who did not provide any statements on the basis of which an arrest could be made, and so, the suspect was released from custody. So far no other person has been arrested or any other suspects detained.
The shooting incident occurred at about 10:00 Saturday night, October 18, while Aldana was standing by a bar in San Pedrito.
Police reported that Aldana was approached by a man he knew, who fired about five shots at him. Aldana tried to run, but was struck by one of the bullets in his right upper back and fell. The shooter then escaped from the area.
Aldana was rushed to the San Pedro Polyclinic, where doctors found that the slug was lodged in his spine. He was transferred to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital in a critical condition, where he was admitted to ward and is being treated.
