Castula Westby dies; case upgraded to murder!

GeneralCastula Westby dies; case upgraded to murder!
Castula Westby, 68, succumbed to massive injuries she sustained during a violent attack by an assailant who was armed with a knife and who stabbed her repeatedly in her mouth, her neck and chest while she was sleeping.

Westby, a community-oriented woman, was attacked last week Sunday, November 27, after 3:00 a.m. The family told us at the time that the intruder gained accessed to her room through the window at the back entrance of the house.

Since the attack last week, Westby was admitted into the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital and had been in a three-day coma; the family refused to divulge any more information about Westby’s condition, but we have learned that she died on Saturday, December 3.

No one has been arrested for the attack, but the Police Press Officer, Inspector Fitzroy Yearwood, told us that as per protocol, a few family members were detained over the weekend for questioning, but had been released.

The stabbing of Westby was extremely disturbing, as the intruder is said to have left feces on the back entrance and smeared it along the walls, leaving his/her hand print. The intruder then went in through Westby’s window, and after the foul deed was done, exited through the same window.

Westby’s daughter and three children, ages ranging up to 20, were present in the home at the time of the attack.

Her family heard Westby moaning in pain, and when they went in, found Westby, and the bed a bloody mess. A family member told us that her tongue was almost severed. The intruder left the knife behind on her pillow.

Westby, as our previews investigations revealed, was a good Samaritan who cooked, and fed needy children on a daily basis. Her community has been mourning her loss.

Police investigations continue.
