Central Zone high school football continues at MCC

SportsCentral Zone high school football continues at MCC
The Central Secondary Schools Sports Association (CSSSA) high school football competition continues at the MCC Grounds in Belize City with games every day except on Sunday. Our last report included games up to Wednesday, January 13. (M – males; F – females) 
    
At press time we have received official reports only on games up to Monday, January 18, when tragedy struck with an incident involving fans at the game resulting in one loss of life.
    
On Thursday, January 14, in game 1, (M) ACC and Nazarene High played to a 0-0 draw; and in game 2, (M) Sadie Vernon (SVT) dropped E.P. Yorke, 3-1. SVT got goals from Alpheus Cleland and Leroy Nunez along with an auto goal from EPY’s Keith Anderson. EPY’s lone positive tally was by Alfred Garnett. 
    
On Friday, January 15, in game 1, (F) Wesley (WES) clipped E.P. Yorke, 1-0, with a goal from Shantia Garnett; and in game 2, (M) Wesley edged Gwen Liz (GLH), 3-2, with goals from Emiliano Oliva (2) and Michael Perrera. Akeem Jones and Michael Myvett scored for GLH.
    
Three games were played on Saturday, January 16. In game 1, (M) Ladyville Tech (LTH) burned ACC, 2-0, with both goals by Denroy McCord.   Game 2 saw (M) Nazarene High (NHS) draw 3-3 with SJC. Shaking the net for NHS were Eldon Myvett, Nathaniel Sedacy and Wilhelm Leslie; while Misael Canul, Avian Crawford and Pedro Cantin split the uprights for SJC. In game 3, (M) E.P. Yorke (EPY) defeated Wesley (WES), 2-1, with 2 goals from Citon Martinez. Brian White scored for WES.
    
Game 1 on Monday, January 18, saw (M) Ladyville Tech (LTH) bomb Sadie Vernon (SVT), 4-1, with goals from Denroy McCord (2), David Ramos and Jael Ottley. Jevaun Aranda got the goal for SVT.  Game 2 was a 2-2 draw between (M) ACC and Gwen Liz (GLH). Roy Bonell and Mark Smith scored for ACC, while John Valerio struck twice for Gwen Liz.
    
Official results for games from Tuesday up to this evening, which will have a bearing on the standings, have not yet been received.
