BELIZE CITY, Wed. Feb. 28, 2018– Greetings from the BNCA (Belize National Cricket Association)!

And things are already getting heated up in the 2018 Sir Barry Bowen Harrison Parks Cricket Competition!  Summer Fever and Rural Mix have won two of two games; and Suga Boys has secured their first victory over Brilliant!  Special acknowledgment to Edison Parks of Sunrise Cricket Club and Randy Rhaburn, Jr. of Rural Mix, who each took 7 wickets in matches played on Sunday.

Here are the results of the cricket matches in the Sir Barry Bowen Harrison Parks Cricket Competition 2018 for February 24 and 25:

For Saturday February 24
Police vs Excellence in Double Head Cabbage
Police defeated Excellence with a score of 93 to 60 runs.  For Police, Howell Gillett top scored with 16 runs, and Herbert Banner took 5 wickets.  For Excellence, Ian Broaster top scored with 7 runs, and Orlando Banner took 6 wickets.

Brilliant vs Suga Boys in Carmelita
Suga Boys defeated Brilliant with a score of 77 runs to 75 runs, with four spare wickets.  For Brilliant, Rudolph Dawson top scored with 21 runs, and Lawrence Banner, Jr. took 3 wickets.  For Suga Boys, Lawrence Wade top scored with 21 runs, and Clifford Tillett took 5 wickets.

Summer Fever vs. Western Eagles in Bermudian Landing

Summer Fever defeated Western Eagles with a score of 108 to 104, with 6 spare wickets.  For Summer Fever, George Hinds took 5 wickets, and Maleek Sutherland top scored with 29 runs.

For Western Eagles, Jude Joseph top scored with 46 runs, and Martin Joseph took 2 wickets.
Rural Mix vs Old Youth in Sandhill

Rural Mix defeated Old Youth with the score of 92 to 76 runs.  For Old Youth, Andy Dominguez top scored with 36 runs, and (?) Dawson took 6 wickets.  For Rural Mix, Frederick Gut top scored with 24 runs, and (?) Seguro took 6 wickets.

For Sunday, February 25
Berlan vs Sunrise in Bermudian Landing
Sunrise defeated Berlan with a score of 115 to 109, with three spare wickets.  For Sunrise, Michael Sobers top scored with 30 runs (not out), and Edison Parks took 7 wickets (took 3 wickets in one over; Big-Up, Mr. Parks!).  For Berlan, Prateek top scored with 40 runs, and Marlon “Kamala” Nicholas took 5 wickets.
Brilliant vs BDF in Crooked Tree

BDF defeated  Brilliant with a score of 85 to 83 runs, with three spare wickets. For BDF, Bernan Stephenson top scored with 24 runs and took 3 wickets.  For Brilliant, Rodwell Conorquie top scored with 24 runs, and Lawrence Banner and Kristan Tillett each took two wickets.
Rural Mix vs Big Deal in Burrell Boom

Rural Mix defeated Big Deal with a score of 119 to 23 runs.  For Rural Mix, Kegan Tillett top scored with 35 runs, and Randy Rhaburn, Jr. took 7 wickets (special Big-Up to Randy; young youth doing his thing!).  For Big Deal, Ryan Jones top scored with 4 runs and also took 6 wickets.
Police vs Western Eagles in Belmopan

Western Eagles defeated Police with a score of 143 to 142.  For Police, Keenan Flowers top scored with 50 runs, and Walton Banner and Brandon Lewis took 3 wickets each.  For Western Eagles, Joseph Pook top scored with 26 runs, and Norman Pook took 3 wickets.

The Police Cricket Team (pictured above), being captained by Walton Banner, is a team that never made the competition last year; but has returned this year with determination to make it big in the 2018 competition!

For the Rural Mix Cricket Team, captained by Randy Rhaburn, Sr., this is their first time ever in the Sir Barry Cricket competition; a young, vibrant and upcoming team!
