Wesley College?s Lisa Hemmans, has proven once again that she is probably the best player on Wesley?s squad, scoring eight points in both games she has played so far.

In the male game, the defending champions Wesley College defeated Gwen Lizarraga 51-35. So far in the competition, Wesley?s male team is undefeated having a record of 3-0.

The combination of Wesley?s Gershom Rodriguez, three-point shooter Ludrick Beeks and superstar teen center, Travis Lennan was too much for Gwen Liz.

Rodriguez and Lennan had a game high of 11 points each while Ludrick Beeks scored 8 points to gain the victory over Gwen Liz.

If they continue with this winning streak, and with Lennan gaining at least 8-11 rebounds per game, Wesley can repeat as Central Division Baskeyball champions defending champions.

For Gwen Liz it was their point guards, Cecil Price and Dave Apolonio, who contributed most of their team?s points. Price had a game high of 15 points and Apolonio had 7 points, but it was not good enough to beat the Wesley squad.

In Tuesday night?s game, Saint Catherine girls defeated Anglican Cathedral 31-25. SCA?s, Bianca McFadzean, was the top scorer with 12 of her team?s total points to give them the victory. Mcfadzean is a candidate for the MVP spot; presently she is the top scorer for her team and the leading point guard. SCA?s Courtney Aguet scored 11 points. ACC?S Nadia Elijio gained 15 of her team?s total points and Myrtel Bailey scored eight.

In the male game, Saint John?s College defeated Anglican Cathedral 71-62. The combination of Carlston Barrera and Shane Rosales were too much for ACC.

Rosales and Barrera constantly stole the ball and scored on fast breaks. ACC?s Ashley Hemsley, stole the ball and scored a lot, but it was not good enough to beat SJC.

Barrera was on fire, and scored 18 of his team ?s total points but the man of the game was Shane Rosales who scored 21 points to give his team the victory.

ACC?S number one player, Ashley Hemsley was unstoppable having a total high of 27 of his team?s points while Jorret Jones tapped in 20.

In Wednesday night?s game, Saint Michael?s girls defeated Pallotti High School 19-9. The game was not a high scoring one yet it was very exciting to watch.

Tanisha James top scored with 5 points while Annlyn Apolonio scored 4 points for the losers.

In the male game, Saint Michael?s College defeated Excelsior High School 48-39. Densmore Edwards was the man of the night scoring 11 of his team?s points; he also had a large number of steals and blocks. Nelson Dillett tipped in 10 points. Excelsior?s Anthony Arnold, top scored with 14 points for the losers.

On Thursday night both Wesley?s male and female teams will go up against Edward P. Yorke High School, and on Friday, November 6, there will be three games played. In the first female game, it will be Anglican Cathedral College vs Gwen Lizarraga High School, followed by ACC?s male team up against Gwen Lizarraga, then Saint Michael?s College boys vs. Nazarene High School. Games are scheduled to play at the Civic Center at 5:30 p.m. sharp.
