A twenty-five-year-old fisherman of Dean Street today appeared in Magistrate’s Court #1 before Chief Magistrate, Margaret Gabb McKenzie, in connection with the fatal shooting of a teenager, Joyce Mitchell, 19.
Daniel Anderson is the suspect who police took into custody and later charged with murder.
McKenzie, before reading the charge, explained that due to the nature of the crime, no plea could be taken; neither could bail be offered.
Anderson was remanded to prison until July 23, 2010.
On June 18, 2010, Mitchell was fatally shot at her home, at #5 Sibun Street, whilst sitting in the back of a vehicle, by a brown-complexioned man, who was described as wearing a white T-shirt and black pants.
The bullet penetrated the temple, and Mitchell later died while undergoing treatment at the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital.
