Did someone “shoot up” Prime Minister Dean Barrow’s law offices?

GeneralDid someone “shoot up” Prime Minister Dean Barrow’s law offices?
Shots are believed to have been fired around 7:55 this morning at the law offices of Barrow and Williams, located on the second floor of a building at #99 Albert Street owned by partners, attorney Rodwell Williams and Prime Minister Dean Barrow, breaking some of the office windows.

We say “are believed” because there is no confirmation by police as yet that the broken windows were caused by gunfire.

When Amandala arrived on the scene, officers of the CIB Special Branch were looking for expended shells in the area.

It was reported that at the time of the shooting, there was only one employee in the building, but fortunately, she was unharmed. It is also reported that Prime Minister Barrow visited the scene, but left shortly after assessing the situation.

Amandala was able to speak with an eyewitness who was in the area working at the time of the incident.

Eyewitness: “Well, deh just shot off, and same time wah lee young bwai mi di pass – he goh dah either Wesley or ACC – and he mih look kinda spooked. He noh know weh gone on. And me and mi co-worker mih deh right yah and none ah we noh know weh gone on, until we start to sih patrol, and vehicle start come in.”

The eyewitness said that he didn’t actually hear when the shots were fired; he only heard when the glass from the window fell to the street and thought someone had thrown a glass bottle at the window at the time.

He also said that the young boy who passed by, dressed like a student, looked scared and could not have been the person who fired the shots, if they were indeed gunshots, because there was no weapon on him.

We also spoke with Rodwell Williams who said that he still has no idea how many shots were fired, or even if they were in fact gunshots. He was of the opinion that since no one really knows, that it may have been a stone that was thrown at the glass window.

Williams declined to comment on the reason for the incident, since Prime Minister Dean Barrow is also a partner at the firm.

Amandala was unable to speak to Prime Minister Barrow, who is set to leave the country tomorrow.

There is still no official word from the police about the incident.
