Erlin Neal, 28, is at the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital (KHMH) recovering, after he was viciously stabbed early Sunday morning inside Club Next, which is located inside the Princess Hotel. Neal’s attackers, believed to be Vincent Galvez and about four of his friends, are being sought by Belize City Police for questioning and possibly for criminal charges having to do with the attack.
Police reported that they visited the KHMH sometime around 3:30 Sunday morning and found Erlin Neal suffering from a number of stab wounds. Neal had stab wounds to his abdomen, back, right chest, and left arm.
Amandala visited Neal at the hospital’s Surgical Ward, where he was admitted in a critical condition. Neal said that he cannot recall exactly how the incident happened, because he was partying and had a few drinks. He said that he can recall going to the bar to buy a drink. When he got there he saw Vincent Galvez. Galvez was along with a group of friends.
As he stood at the bar ordering a drink for his baby’s mother, whom he met inside the club, but who had gone there with her friends, Galvez asked him what’s up with him and his (Galvez) girlfriend.
At that point Neal said that he doesn’t know how the fight started, but suddenly he was being attacked by about five men. They were beating and stabbing him.
Neal, who works as a forklift operator at Bowen and Bowen, was stabbed a total of fourteen times.
He said that the doctor who operated on him had to make an incision on his belly to determine if any of his vital organs were damaged. Fortunately for him, no organs were damaged and he is expected to make a full recovery.
With respect to the question that Galvez asked him, Neal said that he has no relationship with Galvez’s woman.
