The National Teams include the Women’s A-Team & U-17 Selection and Male National A-Team, U-20 and the Futsal Selection.

In a meeting held on September 11, the committee discussed the roles and responsibilities of its members, and Mr. Pelayo shared his vision for the direction of the National Teams.

The committee members that will be working along with Mr. Pelayo include:

Treasurer – Tony Zabaneh, Jr.

Logistics (Local & International) – Dean Flowers & Wilhelm Miguel

Event Coordinators (Security included) – Jesus Castillo & Marlon Tillett

Medical Dept – Marlon Tillett & Antonio Zetina, both charged with the formation of a Medical Department

Marketing – Richard Harrison

Team Managers – Jesus Castillo

Members – Victor Recinos, Ruben Cruz

PR Officer – Luis Peña

The Committee, on September 18, had a follow-up meeting to commence the process of selecting a head-coach and coaching team for the National A-Team that will represent Belize at the Copa Centroamericana. The committee aims to have the National A-Team and its coaching staff named by October 15, 2012.

Belize plays the Copa Centroamericana, previously known as “UNCAF Nations Cup,” in Costa Rica from January 18-27, 2013.

The FFB Secretariat can be contacted via Tel: 822-3410 or via email at [email protected] for further information.

(Ed. Note: Patience. The committee will now “commence the process of selecting a head-coach.” They say, “better late than never;” but we’re very late in preparing for this big international tournament. How big? Below we print some information from Wikipedia on the Copa Centroamericana, and in our weekend issue a concacaf.com article on the Gold Cup, for which the Copa Centroamericana is a qualifier.)

2013 Copa Centroamericana

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The 2013 Copa Centroamericana (English: 2013 Central American Cup) will be the twelfth edition of the competition formerly known as UNCAF Nations Cup. The tournament is organised for the CONCACAF-affiliated national teams of Central America. It will be hosted by Costa Rica. The top five teams from this tournament will qualify for the 2013 CONCACAF Gold Cup. The group stage will be determined in the near future. Honduras is the defending champion.

Participating nations

All seven UNCAF members are participating in the tournament: Belize, Costa Rica, Colombia (Invite), El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, and Panama.
