Miller was hit in the back of the head with a piece of wood
Kevin Anthony Jex is on remand after he was arraigned on charges of attempted murder, dangerous harm and use of deadly means of harm.
According to reports, on November 5, 2013, Desmond Miller, 49, a security guard for the City Council, was standing in front of the council building when he was approached by Jex, who allegedly then hit him in the back of the head with a piece of wood, causing a large cut to Miller’s head.
Miller was rushed to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital, where he was admitted in a critical condition.
No pleas were taken from Jex, as the matter will be heard in the Supreme Court when it goes to trial. He was remanded to the Belize Central Prison until his next adjournment, scheduled for January 7, 2014.
