Mexican police arrest a Belizean, Luis Leyva, for 35 packages of marijuana

GeneralMexican police arrest a Belizean, Luis Leyva, for 35 packages of marijuana
The Mexican-based online media “Sipse.com” reports that yesterday, Tuesday, December 20, 2011, in the municipality of Cardenas in Quintana Roo, Mexico, a Belizean national, Luis Herlindo Leyva, was arrested by Mexican police after he was allegedly caught trafficking 35 packages of marijuana.

The police told the local Mexican news media that Leyva had just finished selling two of the packages of marijuana to a Mexican national, Eulogio Coba Cupul.

Sipse.com’s police reports detail that Leyva had only been dealt with by the local jurisdiction’s Attorney General Ministry. Leyva is now expected to be brought before the federal jurisdiction of Cancun on his drug trafficking charge.

The bust was carried out sometime yesterday. The report is that Leyva was arrested a few minutes after he had allegedly sold two small plastic bags of weed to Cupul in the Colony of Miguel Borge Martin, Mexico.

Cupul, says Sipse.com, told police that he is only a user, not a trafficker, and that he had bought each plastic bag of marijuana for 50 pesos from Leyva.

Sipse.com says that Leyva was allegedly found with a “shipment of 35 bags of marijuana, blood pressure pills, packaging bags, paper to produce cigarettes, a cell phone and cash.”

Leyva, who is married to a Mexican national, is known locally in Mexico as “The Belizean,” Sipse.com says.
