Respect to Boom checkpoint cops

EditorialRespect to Boom checkpoint cops
Maximum respect should be given to the Belize policemen at the Burrell Boom checkpoint who were responsible for detaining the four Mexican policemen, attired as civilians, who were in possession of an unlicensed gun and ammunition on Monday, October 13.

One of the problems with policing in Belize is that when police personnel do their work too diligently, they are often sacrificed by chump politicians. The Burrell Boom checkpoint policemen should be honored and promoted. The four culprits could have been a hit team sent from a Mexican cartel to do a job. If that sounds far-fetched to you, you are an ostrich.

Belize security personnel need to get real when dealing with strange foreigners. It was a holiday, but the Burrell Boom checkpoint cops were vigilant. Maximum respect.

There is more this newspaper wants to say about this incident, but we will wait for more information.
