BELIZE CITY, Mon. Dec. 11, 2017–Two men, Ronald Bradley, 26, and Mike Neal, 19, were charged with robbery when they appeared today before Senior Magistrate Aretha Ford. They pleaded not guilty to the charge. Senior Magistrate Ford explained to them that the court cannot consider offering them bail until after 3 months have passed. She remanded them into custody until February 2. The incident for which the men were charged, occurred around 4:15 p.m. on December 8.
The complainant, Mandini Martinez, 23, a laborer of La Democracia, reported to the police that he was walking on the Coastal Road, coming from Tilapia Farm and heading for home, when he was approached by Bradley, Neal, and another man. He said Bradley was armed with a shotgun and he pointed the gun in his face and demanded money. He said he told Bradley, whom he has known for 6 years, that he did not have any money.
He said Bradley then stole his Smart cellular phone, valued at $346. He said he asked Bradley why he was doing such a thing, and Bradley told him, “Continue your way before I kill you”.
