Taxi operator murdered in San Antonio

GeneralTaxi operator murdered in San Antonio
On Monday at around 2 p.m., police found the body of Dominicio Quixchan, 45, a taxi driver from Bullet Tree Village, off a feeder road in San Antonio Village. Police say that he had stab wounds to his body, and his throat was slashed.

Police say that according to Hernan Manzanero, a 21-year-old Bullet Tree farmer, he had hired Quixchan to take his entire family to Progresso. Manzanero told police that Quixchan picked up his common-law wife, his baby daughter, and him (Manzanero), and they started to leave Bullet Tree.

Manzanero said that while on their way, they were stopped by two dark-complexioned men who forced themselves in Quixchan’s taxi. At knife-point, the men made him drive everyone to the Mountain Pine Ridge area.

Manzanero said that he and his common-law wife managed to escape with their baby when Quixchan struggled with one of the men, who was armed with a knife, that was the last time that the taxi driver was seen alive.

We were able to speak with Quixchan’s family, who said that they don’t know why the men would have wanted to rob him, because his taxi job earned him just enough to support himself and his family. His wife said that she called more than 50 times, and when he didn’t answer like he normally does, she knew he was in grave danger.

Quixchan was a father of 5 children, and a husband for 15 years.
