PUNTA GORDA, Mon. June 20, 2016–The semifinals are over in the TIDE Freshwater Cup 2016 Primary Schools Football Tournament, and the stage is set for the finals, which are scheduled for Wednesday of this week.
The semifinals were played today at the Julian Cho Technical High School football field. In the first semifinal today, St. Peter Claver Boys defeated Bella Vista Boys, 2-0, with goals from Lawrence King (12’) and Elsner Rodney (23’). The next semifinal saw St. Peter Claver Girls playing to a 0-0 draw with Trio Girls. They went to penalties, and Trio Girls defeated St. Peter Claver Girls, 4-3. The second male semifinal saw Golden Stream Boys getting the 2-0 win over San Pedro Columbia Boys, with a goal apiece from JerdyShol (14’) and Valeriano Ack (28’). In the second female semifinal, Silver Creek Girls won by default over San Marcos Girls, who failed to show up. Silver Creek has therefore been qualified for the finals.
The following school teams are qualified for the FINALS: St. Peter Claver Boys; Golden Stream Boys; Trio Primary School Girls; and Silver Creek School Girls.
The TIDE Primary School FWC 20165 Finals will be played at Cattle Landing Football Field on Wednesday.
