Tyrone Crown, 38, savagely executed

GeneralTyrone Crown, 38, savagely executed
Tyrone Crown, 38, a vehicle bodyworks mechanic of Louise Bevans Street, Belize City, was ruthlessly executed on the corner of Caesar Ridge Road and Alan Pitts Crescent on Saturday, August 20, 2011, at around 6:00 p.m.

His relatives, who are currently grieving his loss, have declined comment to the media.

Reliable sources tell Amandala that Crown was riding down Caesar Ridge Road, just after he had finished speaking to a female resident on Nurse White Crescent, when he was ambushed.

Police say that two men rode up behind Crown and one of them shot him several times. Witnesses say that the gunman wore a “wave cap” over his face and rode a small bicycle with a raised seat. He reportedly rode up behind Crown and shot him several times to various parts of his body.

Crown collapsed. The gunman paused but fired several more shots “for good measure,” before making off with his companion.

At least one of the bullets struck Crown in his head, and he was quickly rushed to the hospital. He passed away shortly afterwards.

Residents of Louise Bevans Street told us that Crown didn’t deserve the cruel end he received. They said he was a hard-working man who kept to himself and avoided trouble.

Crown’s murder is the second to have occurred in that part of Port Loyola area in 3 days—the other being the murder of Giovanni Chi (see story on elsewhere in this issue).

Police Press Officer Fitzroy Yearwood has told us that these murders have been particularly difficult to investigate, because the public has refused to come forward with any information.

He is urging anyone who has seen anything to call the 0-800-822-TIPS hotline.
