SANTA RITA VILLAGE, Corozal, Mon. Mar. 1, 2021– Around midday on Monday, March 1, police raided a home in the Santa Rita village. A search of the residence led to the discovery of 12 parcels of marijuana, which had a total weight of 7.36 kilograms or 16.2 pounds.

The Santa Rita residence is the home of 43-year-old Carmelita Gonguez, who was in the home at the time of the raid along with 43-year-old Sherleen Giddare, a Corozal town resident; 20-year-old Nigel Gonzalez, a Santa Rita resident; and 2 minors. The police arrested and charged all persons on site with possession of controlled drugs with intent to supply.
