DANGRIGA, Stann Creek District, Thurs. Jan. 28, 2021– On Thursday morning, January 28, 2021, Kenrick Drysdale, the owner of One Love Car Wash, located in Dangriga, was gunned down by a minor at his place of business. Police have since reported that the 16-year-old young man has been arrested and charged with murder.
Drysdale was shot twice while in the company of a friend at his business place on Commerce Street in Dangriga Town. He was rushed to the Southern Regional Hospital before police could arrive on the scene and was pronounced dead shortly after. His death is the most recent in a string of murders that have taken place in Dangriga. The Commissioner of Police said that he is actively engaged in that area with a view to rebuilding trust between the Police Department and the community.
The well-known Dangriga resident was shot in the chest and lower back by the minor, who left six rounds of 9mm ammunition at the scene — four expended and two live. Police said that a 9mm pistol was also found on the minor while he was being detained.
To date, no possible motive for the murder has been established, but police have informed the media that the minor was acquainted with the victim.
