Two weeks ago, Robert Lamb, a student and one of the 3 men charged, was charged with stealing a metal safe containing $15,500. He was released on a bail of $6,000.

BELIZE CITY, Mon. May 28, 2018– The police’s investigation of a robbery at Jolli Bee’s Restaurant, located at the corner of Amara Avenue and Cemetery Road has led to the arrest of three men. They are Lemar Lamb, 19; his brother, Robert Lamb, 18; and Iwin Palma. They pleaded not guilty to 5 counts of robbery when they appeared today before Senior Magistrate Aretha Ford.

They were remanded into custody until August 28.

The incident occurred on Saturday, May 26. Three men entered the restaurant, one of them armed with a firearm. They stole a cash register containing $1,200 from the restaurant. They also stole $100 and a gold chain with a medal from Stephanie Clarke, a customer at the restaurant.

They also stole money and other items, including an Indian passport, from three Indian students, Bhookima Soni, Anand Shibu and Nuku Ljeet Tomar.

Quick response by the police resulted in them pursuing a car and intercepting it. There were five persons in the car, but only three of the car’s occupants were arrested and charged.

About two weeks ago, Robert Lamb, a student of Sadie Vernon High School, was charged for a burglary in which a grey metal safe containing $15,500 was stolen from Kim Shop, located on Antelope Street Extension.

Lamb was released on a bail of $6,000 with 2 sureties of $3,000 each.
