A deeper story behind Morgan Francisco, Jr.’s suicide when he saw police

GeneralA deeper story behind Morgan Francisco, Jr.’s suicide when he saw police

BELIZE CITY, Tues. Sept. 15, 2020– At about 11:30 on the morning of September 10, a policeman went into the yard of Morgan Francisco, Sr., on Peter Seco Street, to tell him to wear a mask, although he was in his yard.

The policeman also saw Morgan Francisco, Jr., who was just coming out of the family’s house, and allegedly told him, “Boy, I want to see you”.

That was when Morgan Francisco, Jr., went back into the house, took a knife and stabbed himself in the chest. He had believed that police were coming to get him.

Although he was gravely injured, Morgan Francisco, Jr., walked out of the house and onto the street-side, a distance of about 30 feet, where he confronted the policeman and asked him twice, “Why me?”

In an extended interview with us today, Morgan Francisco, Sr., the grieving father, said that while his son was asking the policeman why he was harassing him, he was hugging the police vehicle and was bleeding on it.

His son then went back inside the house to drink water, and came back outside, and was walking in the yard towards the policeman when he collapsed.

His mother, Jocelyn Francisco, asked the policeman to take him to the hospital, but according to the deceased man’s parents, the policeman refused, and began texting on his phone and ignored the injured young man, only saying that he was fearful that Morgan Francisco, Jr., would jump out of the vehicle if he took him.

Francisco, Sr., said that another police vehicle arrived and the officer inside it agreed to take his son to the hospital.

Francisco, Sr., and his older son then put Morgan Francisco, Jr., into the pan of the vehicle, which took him to the hospital. His mother told us that there was a delay of about 15 to 20 minutes before her son was taken to the hospital, and she knew that he would die because of the time wasted.

Francisco, Sr., said that a post-mortem exam of his son’s body certified that his death was caused by a perforation wound in the heart and in the lungs.

Francisco, Sr., said that there are many issues that need to be addressed, such as who sent the policeman to his house at that time. He said that his son was being harassed by police due to a relationship he was having with a woman in Biscayne.

He said that his son went to live with the young woman, but she was having a relationship with a policeman, and when he found out, she got angry with him, and the relationship between them was strained and later ended. It appears that Francisco, Jr., was being harassed — presumably by associates of the policeman — during that time, and his parents claim that he used to text them in the night and relate to them the harassment he was going through.

When the relationship did not work out, Morgan Francisco, Jr., returned home, but, according to his parents, he was still being harassed. He began to get paranoid when he saw policemen, the family said.

Morgan Francisco, Sr., said that on Wednesday, September 9, his son was stopped and his photo taken, and this agitated him. When the policeman went to their house that Thursday morning, his son, who was already distraught, did what he did – stabbed himself.

Morgan Francisco, Sr., reportedly told the policeman that he caused his son’s suicide.

Francisco, Sr., is calling on the Commissioner of Police, Chester Williams, to launch an investigation into the provocation of his son that led him to take his life.

Francisco, Sr., said that the incident occurred on Suicide Prevention Day, but so far, no one has come to see him or offered him or his family any assistance or counseling.

He said that they are not feeling his pain.
