A rotting corpse in a countryside latrine

GeneralA rotting corpse in a countryside latrine

This morning, around 10:00, police visited the scene, a farm that is about ten minutes walk from a feeder road located on the left side of the Western Highway. Thick bushes surrounded an old, abandoned, incomplete cement house, and there was an old latrine about 15 feet from the back of the house, from which an unpleasant smell was coming.

Police looked inside the pit of the latrine, which had a concrete top, a depth of about five feet, and was approximately 4 feet in diameter. There they discovered the decomposing body of a man floating in the water. The right foot of a pair of black tennis shoes was floating near him. The man was floating face down. He wore a dark blue T-shirt, a dark blue cargo pants, and a black tennis shoe was on his left foot. Worms were on the man?s back and part of his rib cage was exposed.

Police believe that the body has been decomposing for about four days now.

A portion of the man?s right arm could be seen, and his complexion has led police to believe that he may be a light-skinned person.

According to police, the body is still in the latrine, and they have scheduled a post-mortem for tomorrow.

Police are reviewing their missing person?s report to see if they can identify the corpse.
