BELIZE CITY—U.S. Ambassador to Belize, H.E. Carlos R. Moreno, will host a media roundtable next Thursday, August 14, 2014 in Belmopan, at which he has agreed to discuss current policy issues.
Ambassador Moreno arrived in Belize on June 20, 2014, and since then, he has been engaging various groups, including members of the environmental community and private sector, specifically the American Chamber of Commerce and the Belize Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
According to information published by the U.S. Embassy in Belize, Ambassador Moreno met two weeks ago with NGOs at a roundtable hosted by the Belize Audubon Society to discuss environmental developments and concerns in Belize. The Embassy said that the environmental NGOs discussed current and future projects, as well as present concerns and issues.
Also, the American Chamber of Commerce noted that Ambassador Moreno hosted an industry roundtable event in Belize City that was well-attended. Members of the American Chamber of Commerce and the Belize Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s President’s Circle attended that event, as well as British High Commissioner to Belize, Ambassador Peter Hughes.
According to the Embassy, Ambassador Moreno’s remarks focused on the rule of law and its positive effects on the business environment in Belize.
