BELIZE CITY, Mon. July 27, 2015–The Belize District Basketball Association (BDBA) Firms Tournament 2015 continued with games over the weekend on Friday and Saturday nights at Bird’s Isle.

In the opener on Friday night, General won, 67-58, over Ready Call. For Generals, Roman Williams had 18 pts, Cassian Flowers 14 pts 19 rebs, and Wilfred Richards 12 pts 7 rebs; while Ready Call was led by Hubert Baptist 18 pts 5 rebs, Septimus Ritchie 14 pts 8 rebs, and David Sutherland 11 pts. And in the nightcap, it was Bulldogs with the 70-62 win over Central Bank. Leading the way for Bulldogs were Tarique Gabb 21 pts 2 rebs, Brian White 12 pts 10 rebs, Roscoe Rhys 11 pts 4 rebs 5 assts, and Marcel Orosco 11 pts 6 rebs 3 assts; while Central Health had Steven Wade with 17 pts 4 rebs 3 assts, Travis Bernardez 14 pts 5 rebs, and Neil Nicholson 11 pts 3 rebs.

Game 1 on Sunday saw Digicell-4G grabbing the 77-59 victory over Infotel. Top scorers for Digicell were Raheem Staine 17 pts 3 assts 5 stls, Jason Lamb 12 pts 6 rebs 3 stls, Jael Ottley 12 pts 3 stls, and Otis Clother 10 pts 3 stls; while for Infotel, Stafford Young was high man with 19 pts 7 rebs 3 stls, Devin Bladden had 13 pts 7 rebs 4 assts 4 stls, and Jamal Pollard 11 pts 5 rebs. Game 2 was one of the more competitive encounters, and saw Atlantic Bank edging BWS Pressure, 68-64, behind Ian Lennon 22 pts 14 rebs, Justin Wade 16 pts 8 rebs, and Herman Ramos 17 pts 4 rebs; while for BWS Pressure, Luis Barcelona was awesome with 28 pts 14 rebs 5 stls, and Ishmarley Clarke added 8 pts 4rebs 3 assts, all in a losing effort. And in the nightcap game, it was Heritage Bank, 74-65, over Belikin. Top scorers for Heritage Bank were Felix Martinez 22 pts 3 assts 4 stls, Marvin Skeet 17 pts 6 rebs 3 assts, and Steve Bonnel 13 pts 4 rebs;while for Belikin, Kadeem Olivera had 26 pts 5 rebs, Darren Neal 16 pts 6 rebs, and Michael Staine 10 pts 11 rebs.
