Belize celebrates World Pharmacy Day

HighlightsBelize celebrates World Pharmacy Day

Belmopan, Sat. Sept. 25, 2021– Belize is today observing World Pharmacy Day under the theme, “Pharmacy: Always trusted for your health.” This year the focus is on trust, and the emphasis is on the close correlation between trust in healthcare professionals and health outcomes for patients.

In the midst of the pandemic, as vaccine hesitancy impedes the national immunization campaign, the day is a reminder to the public that pharmacists are highly competent, have extensive expertise in diseases and public health, and work tirelessly to provide quality services to those in need.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, pharmacies have assisted in the distribution of personal protective equipment and integrated themselves into the national immunization program in Belize. A post from the Ministry of Health and Wellness says, “We acknowledge the hard work from all our pharmacists countrywide as they continue to ensure pharmaceutical services are kept at optimal levels for the people they serve.”
