And in the nightcap, it was Belmopan City Council Youth All Stars prevailing by a similar 4-0 score over Orange Walk Youth All Stars, with goals from Noah Moro (28’), Jairo Lopez (33’ & 63’) and Tarique Humes (69’).

The Belmopan Football League, the organizers of the tournament, want to extend their thanks and appreciation to La Immaculada RC School and Mr. Carlos Umana for accepting our invitation to participate in this year’s All Star games for the Belmopan City Council Kids and Youth Cups.

Kids Cup championship

In the Kids Cup championship match on Sunday afternoon, Barcelona – Site 7 and Real Madrid – Mountain View ended in a scoreless tie in regulation, so the championship had to be decided from the penalty spot. After 5 penalties and 4 misses each, the score was tied, 1-1, with Steven Gentle scoring for Barcelona – Site 7 and Ahmaud Sanchez scoring for Real Madrid – Mountain View; so they continued into sudden death penalties. Devin Nunez scored the game winner for Barcelona – Site 7, who won the penalty shootout by a 2-1 score for the championship.

Barcelona – Site 7 are therefore the back-to-back Belmopan City Council Kids Cup Champions 2013. Real Madrid – Mountain View are Kids Cup Sub-Champions 2013; and 3rd place went to Manchester City – Armenia. Individual awards were given for: Best Goalkeeper – Devin Nunez (Barcelona – Site 7); Most Goals – Tyzae Carr (Barcelona – Site 7); and MVP – Ainsleigh Perez (Barcelona – Site 7).

Youth Cup championship

Next was the Youth Cup championship game, and this one ended in regulation, with Barcelona – Site 7 emerging 1-0 winners over Valencia – YWAM Roaring Creek, on a goal from Roji Solorzano (29’).

Barcelona – Site 7 are therefore the Belmopan City Council Youth Cup Champions 2013. Sub-Champion 2013 is Valencia – YWAM Roaring Creek; and 3rd place is Manchester United – San Martin. Individual awards were given for: Best Goalkeeper – Cesar Gonzalez (Valencia – YWAM Roaring Creek); Most Goals – Naim Wilson (Valencia – YWAM Roaring Creek); and MVP – Roji Solorzano (Barcelona – Site 7).
