SAN IGNACIO TOWN, Cayo District, Sun. July 10, 2022
The regular season of the Benque and San Ignacio/Santa Elena Basketball Tournament 2022 came to an end this past weekend at the Mopan Technical Auditorium in Benque Viejo Town. Playoffs will tip off this coming weekend. The Under 15 and Under 18 teams will battle in a best-of-three playoff series while the top 4 teams in the Open division will play in the semi-finals, which will also be a best-of-three series, with the winners advancing to the finals. Below are the scores, standings and the upcoming playoff schedule.
Friday, July 8, reg. season results
(Under 15) Assassins Jr., 38-33, over Benque Basketball Academy. Assassins – Jeremy Carbajal 12 pts; Yonic “Skully” Crawford 8 pts. Benque Academy – Gevan Canelo 15 pts; Hua Qiang Zhao 10 pts.
(Open Male) Benque No-Hops, 68-63, over West Kings. Benque No-Hops – Kysslon Kisling 24 pts; Elvis “Zui” Usher, Jr. 18 pts. West Kings – Kieran Dart 18 pts; Matthew Morales 17 pts; Miguel Cruz 15 pts.
