SportsBMP football highlights – father and son shake the net as Camalote Warriors records 6-nil victory
Football action was hot in the capital City, with six games played over the past weekend at the Isidoro Beaton Stadium in the Belmopan Football Association competition.

On Friday at 7:00 p.m., San Martin and Camalote Amigos played to a 1-1 stalemate. The game was scoreless until the 83rd minute, when Rafael August shook the net for San Martin; but two minutes later, it was Elias Jimenez getting the equalizer for Camalote Amigos.

In the second game at 9:00 p.m., AC Milan had to bounce back from a 1-nil deficit to turn back Santa Martha 6–2 in regulation. Santa Martha jumped in front at the 10th minute, as Elisandro Garcia got his first goal of the match. They held on to the lead until the 42nd minute, when Norman Elington tied the game with his first goal for AC Milan. Elington was just getting started, however, as he proceeded to strike three more times, at the 47th, 55th and 60th minute, for a hat trick plus one, and giving his team a comfortable 4-1 lead. Elisandro Garcia got his second goal for Santa Martha in the 73rd minute to close the gap to 4-2 in favor of AC Milan. But it wasn’t enough, as AC Milan got two more goals from Darwin Divas and Hector Galdamez in the 75th and 90th minute, respectively, for the 6-2 final score.

In Saturday night’s first game at 7:00 p.m., Barrio Fino had an easy time disposing of Argentina 4-nil on goals by Darren Andrews in the 8th, Rodwell Dominquez in the 10th, Garett Bradley in the 32nd, and Jeffrey Jones in the 87th minute.

Another big shutout was registered in the 9:00 p.m. match as Camalote Warriors came out with a vengeance, blowing out Inter-Milan by a 6-nil score. Pablo Fuentes opened the scoring for Camalote Warriors in the 7th minute. Berthan Bermudez then took over with his first goal in the 12th and added another in the 29th minute. Wayne Wiltshire got his goal in the 20th minute. In the 80th minute it was Denmark Casey, Sr., putting Camalote up 5-1. And then in the 88th minute his son, Denmark Casey, Jr., added another for the final 6-nil score.

The shutout pattern continued with the two games played on Sunday.

In the first game played on Sunday at 5:00 p.m., Arizona and Capital United were “mano-mano”, until Alfredo Corea broke the ice for Arizona in the 47th minute for the 1-nil lead. Victor Chicas then made it 2-nil with his goal in the 63rd minute. Alfredo Corea then came back with another goal in the 75th minute to give Arizona the 3-nil victory.

There was no scarcity of goals in the final match of the weekend, as Cotton Tree had the upper hand with Aguilas, blasting them with 8 unanswered goals. Mario Alvarez opened the scoring for Cotton Tree in the 17th minute, followed by Rony Chan in the 32nd and Rany Alvarez in the 38th for the 3-nil half-time lead. And it was more of the same in the second half, as Juventino Garcia made it 4-nil with his goal in the 56th minute. Mario Alvarez then added his second goal in the 78th minute, as did Rony Chan in the 80th, Rany Alvarez in the 85th and Juventino Garcia in the 90th minute, for the final score of 8-nil, Cotton Tree over Aguilas.
