Changes made for distribution of food pantry packages

HighlightsChanges made for distribution of food pantry packages

BELIZE CITY, Mon. Apr. 20, 2020– The Ministry of Human Development announced that changes have been made for the smooth distribution of Food Pantry program packages with effect from today, Monday, April 20. Food will now be distributed according to the surnames of the persons who are beneficiaries of the program. This system is now in place to prevent overcrowding at the distribution outlets.

For example, people registered to get food at the Oleander Street Food Pantry with surnames that start with the letters A – F will get food on Tuesdays from 9: 00 a.m. to 12:00 noon.

On Wednesdays, people with surnames G – M will receive their food supplies, while on Thursday, people with surnames N – S will be given food from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon.

On Friday, people with surnames from T – Z can go to the outlet from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon for food distribution.

It is hoped that, with the new arrangement in place, no disappointed person who has waited in line will be turned away empty-handed from the pantry.
