Today in Magistrate’s Court, Clement Bol, Jr., 19, a student of Grace Avenue, Buttonwood Bay, Belize City stood before Magistrate Adolph Lucas, Jr., to answer to charges of robbery and harm.
Police say thatChristopher Pitts, a 29-year-old sideman at Bowen and Bowen Company Limited, reported that he was walking on Pike Crescent Wednesday, September 9, at 9:00 p.m., when he was approached by four men of Creole descent, one of whom he recognized as Clement Bol.
As Pitts was passing between them, one of them jumped and grabbed him by the neck and choked him. The other man and Bol searched him and stole his cell phone valued at $375, 3 pairs of gold earrings valued at $275, a gold ring with an eagle design valued at $375, a gold ring with 8 stones valued at $250, and $250 cash, to a total value of $1,525 all Belize currency.
Pitts also stated that during the robbery he was punched in the right eye and thatBol pointed a 9mm pistol at him.
No plea was taken and Magistrate Lucas explained to Bol that due to the fact that the robbery was committed with a firearm, no bail could be granted without him applying to Supreme Court, but only after 7 days.
Bol was remanded and his case is adjourned for October 19, 2010. According to his father, he was charged with robbery before (last year), but the complainant went to police and requested that no court action be taken.
