Dear Sir,
The development of new sources of wealth in our country has not brought better health care, food, shelter, education, clothing, etc., to the most needed ones in our country.
Today, Friday, May 30, of this present year, I had the opportunity to shake the Minister of Education Hon. Francis Fonseca, oh I’m sorry, I meant to say Patrick Faber’s hand. You see, I get a little mix up with this UDP/PUP thing. That is why I am considering the possibility to be a member of the PUDP (People’s United Democratic Party).
Anyhow, I enjoyed the act he preformed at the Methodist School in front of the children and the message he gave them, just that the poor little innocent kids cannot answer until they turn to be an adult and get into the real world, but by then they won’t remember what Patrick Faber told them.
I, as an adult, in the name of the little innocent children would like to ask Patrick Faber for a job.
By the way, I did not know that brother Blades was a Senator. Permit me to say to him, “Boy, take advantage of this coming 4+ years and ask brother Barrow to let you go on your space time to take a course in social relationship (politics),” certainly with the GOB money. You see, brother Blades, when you are in a post like the one which was given to you by Brother Barrow, the first thing you have to do is remember is that you are paid not to have a private life. Now you belong completely to the UDP-GOB, or the Nation of Belize? So whenever you are on an official visit in any place and you have to pass where there are people on both sides, you walk slowly so that you can shake hands or say hello to the persons who you are passing by, and if you know them, greet them by their name. Help your visiting Minister who does not know all the people of all constituencies (circunscripción).
That is why whenever a Minister visits a place, there should be a group of people who are of that place to tell him who is who and who is not. I remember when Dean Barrow visited the Corozal Market while he was campaigning. When I approached him, before I could have said anything, he said to me, “How are you, Mr. Luna?”.
I was surprised, because there was none of his companions at his side, and it was the first time we met. I think brother Barrow needs to give many of you some lessons. No wonder the PUPees are always in power.
As a matter of fact, Mr. P.M., subsidizing the electricity for the people with the GOB money is the same thing as charging the people. Because the GOB is not a private entity; it is the people of Belize, so it boils down to the same thing. The people are saying Nationalize B.E.L. But you are not listening. Why? When there is hunger, illness and crime, discourses of good will are of no use.
