COROZAL TOWN, Tues. Oct. 2, 2018– This week marked the 8th week of the Corozal Football Association’s (CFA) ongoing U-15 Male and U-17 Male Tournaments, with a total of 5 teams for the U-15, and 10 teams for the U-17. The tournament also includes U-10 Male and U-17 Female categories. We are pleased to report that all games have been a success. We extend a sincere thanks to our Organizing Committee Chairman, Mr. Melhem Williams, for his continued support, commitment and dedication. A big thank you to all the parents, club managers, players and coaches.

This past weekend’s games on Saturday and Sunday were all played at the Carolina Football Field.
In games played on Saturday, September 29, (U-15) Falcons won, 3-2, over Carolina; (U-17) Caledonia SFC bombed Ranchito Young Warriors, 8-0; (U-17) Falcons edged Corozal Invaders, 4-3; and (U-17) Corozal Rising Stars shut out Bacadia Warriors, 3-0.

Sunday, September 30, saw (U-15) Carolina and Corozal Rising Stars ending in a 0-0 draw; (U-15) Corozal Invaders won, 4-1, over Hiram Stars; (U-17) Chunox FC clipped Caledonia SFC, 3-2; (U-17) Progresso United Jr. shelled Ranchito Young Warriors, 5-0; (Female U-17) Libertadores got the 2-1 win over Calcutta Strikers; (U-10) Corozal Invaders blanked Calcutta Bulls, 5-0; (U-10) Hiram Stars drilled Rising Stars, 8-0; (U-10) Calcutta Strikers crushed Calcutta Bulls, 12-2; and (U-10) Corozal Invaders won, 4-3, over Hiram Stars.

The Corozal Football Association (CFA) wants to give special recognition to Hiram Reyes, the youngest player taking part in the U-10 tournament at the tender age of 5, playing with Concepcion Hiram Stars.

U-15 Male Top Goal Scorers as of October 1 – Clifford Sanker (5, Corozal Invaders); Johan Basto (5, Hiram Stars); Rojan Chable (5, Falcons); and Luis Sanchez (5, Falcons).  Congratulations all!!

U-17 Male Top Goal Scorers as of October 1 – Harold Ramos (14, Bacadia Warriors);  Romario Martinez (12, Chunox FC); Denilson Tzul (10, Progresso United); and Shane Morgan (10, Corozal Rising Stars).
