Corozal Town. Sun. Sept. 26, 2021– On Sunday, September 26, Aldo Cowo, 28, was murdered on the verandah of his home while he was having a leisurely chat with his mother and five-year-old daughter.
It has been reported that Cowo and his family were sitting on their front porch around 4:00 that evening when a man emerged from the bushes in their backyard with a firearm and fired a single bullet that wounded Cowo in the head. Cowo is presumed to have died almost immediately, but he was transported to the Corozal Community Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Since the shooting took place while Cowo’s family members looked on, police were able to get a detailed description of the suspected gunman, and the Police Department hopes to identify and detain that suspect soon.
The gunman is believed to be someone who had a misunderstanding with the victim. An investigation revealed that Cowo was the intended target and that the shooter did not utter a single word when he fired the fatal shot.
A post-mortem exam will be conducted on Cowo’s body to confirm the cause of his death.
