An 18-year-old woman has told police that she was raped by a radio announcer and deejay of Radio Bahia, a radio station in the Rainbow town area of Corozal, at about 9:30 Wednesday night.

According to police reports, the woman went to the radio station to meet the radio announcer, who had promised to give her some answers to questions that he would ask when he started to give away phones on the radio station.

While there, the woman told police, the deejay allegedly took her to a room at the back of the building, pushed her inside and had sex with her against her will.

The distraught woman went to the police, where she made a formal report. She then was taken to the Corozal Hospital, where she was examined by a doctor, who certified that she had been carnally known.

The announcer was arrested shortly after.
