In the male game, Saint Michael?s College defeated Anglican Cathedral College by a score of 61-59.

ACC?s, Ashley Hemsley, scored the first basket of the game to give them the lead 2-0. With 11:19 minutes left in the ball game ACC led 10-6.

The combination of Hemsley and Denroy McDonald were too much for the Michael?s boys. McDonald consecutively blocked balls and scored shots to give his team a larger lead 25-15. At halftime, ACC led 35-26.

Second half was a little different when St. Michael?s superstar, Densmore Edwards, finally began to shine.

He scored nine straight points, which brought back the game from 26-35 deficits to 35-39 ball game.

Now with 8:42 minutes left in the ball game, ACC was still leading 45-41.

However, Densmore Edwards did it again! He scored eight more points to give his team the first tie of the game 49-49.

With only 2 minutes more left in the ball game, Saint Michael?s had captured their first lead of the game 53-49.

At the final seconds of the game, Michael?s boys managed to keep up their lead and won the game 61-59.

The man of the game was Desmore Edwards who scored 23 points for his team. In addition, he scored 17 points in second half alone.

Following Edwards was his teammate, Nelson Dillett, who topped in 10 points. Ashley Hemsley scored 21 points for the losing team.

On Friday, October 29, in both male and female games, Edward P. Yorke will go up against Ladyville Technical High School.

In the third male game, Anglican Cathedral College will go up against Nazarene High School.

Games will begin at 5:00 p.m. sharp at the Belize Civic Center.
