DANGRIGA, Wed. May 4, 2016–Boys & Girls U-13: Here are the results from the Dangriga Cancer Centre Boys & Girls U-13 semi-finals over the weekend. New Site won over Pomona, 2 goals to nil. In game 2, Umadagu vs Silk Grass was a big controversy. That game will be played over this Sunday, which will be a 15-15, 30 minutes of action.

Immediately after that will be the finals. The loser of the Umadagu vs Silk Grass game will play Pomona for third place; and the winner will play New Site in the finals.

U-15 Top-8 playoffs: Mr. Mar and Griga Yaad Cleaning U-15 Top-8 playoffs will get under way this Sunday also at the Ecumenical football field. The winner advances; the loser “goes home.”

Here are the standings: Wagiya 25 pts; Hopkins 22 pts; Wagierale 20 pts; Umadagu 16 pts; Pomona 13 pts; 3G 13 pts; Montise 10 pts; Hope Creek 9 pts.

This Sunday game 1 at 1:00 p.m. – Wagiya vs Hope Creek; game 2 – Hopkins vs Pomona; game 3 – Wagierale vs 3G; and GAME 4 – UMADAGU VS POMONA.

U-18 tournament: Dangriga Boys & Girls Frank “Paapa” Mena U-18 Tournament that is scheduled for this month, May 24, also at the Ecumenical football field, is tentative.

Dominoes: This Mother’s Day, Sunday, May 8, will be the Grand Frank Paapa Mena & Lucky Star Domino Marathon, which will be held at Sexy Thing Kool Spot on the beach.

All domino teams in the Stann Creek District are invited. The Marathon starts at 12:00 mid-day. Teams must be at Sexy Thing Kool Spot by 11:30 a.m. this Sunday. Registration per teams for the Marathon is $25.00. First place for the Marathon is $300.00; second place, $200.00.

The regular competition begins the following weekend. Registration for the competition will be $50.00. First place for the competition will be $1,500.00; second place will be $1,000.00; third place will be $500.00.

High school international basketball 

High school international basketball comes to Dangriga on May 20 at the Ecumenical basketball auditorium, which will include Delille Academy, male and female basketball teams, Ecumenical male and female basketball teams, and also 4 teams from Quintana Roo, Chetumal, which will be two female (F) teams and 2 male (M) teams. The games start at 5:00 p.m. at Ecumenical basketball court.

Game 1 – (F) Dellile Academy vs Sparks from Chetumal
Game 2 – (M) Dellile Academy vs Quintana Roo selection
Game 3 – (F) Ecumenical vs Instituto Cumbres from Chetumal
Game 4 – (M) Ecumenical vs Instituto Cumbres from Chetumal
Admission – adults $5.00, students $4.00, kids $2.00.

High school international basketball: May 20 at the Ecumenical Basketball Auditorium. Students come out and support your schools!!

Labor Day Marathon results

A Grand Labor Day Football Marathon took place at Pomona New Site football field on Monday, May 2. Ten (10) solid teams took part. It was one grand prize of $1,000.00; the winners advance, the losers go home. At the end of the day, it was Revolution All Star from Dangriga who took first place to be crowned the Labor Day Marathon Champion, and they took back to Dangriga the $1,000.00 prize.
