SportsDangriga sports stats – PLB Week 11, Southern Derby Part 2, Carl Ramos Stadium, must-win for Wagiya vs Altitude FC

DANGRIGA, Stann Creek District, Wed. Oct. 16, 2019

Cycling

Results from Mr. Kelly’s production in collaboration with Dangriga Amateur Cycling Association’s Over-40 Pan American Race that was held on Monday, October 14, from the Placencia junction on the Southern Highway to Placencia, which was 23 miles: First place went to Carl Wallen from Placencia; second place went to Ean Yearwood, also from Placencia; third place went to Edmund Camal from Dangriga; and fourth place went to Kurt “Busta” Lambey from Dangriga. The Oldest Rider prize went to Peter “Baf” Reyes from Dangriga.

The next race coming up will be in conjunction with Garifuna Settlement Day activity, which will be our annual T.V. Ramos Cycling Classic on November 17, when we feature the Elite Cross Country cyclists & the Weekend Ryders.

PLB football

The Premier League of Belize (PLB) will continue the second round of its Opening Tournament this weekend throughout the country. Here in Dangriga’s Carl Ramos Stadium on Sunday at 4:00 p.m., it will be our home team, WAGIYA Football Club’s final chance to see if we will still be around for the Top-4 playoff race. Our home team, Wagiya must rise to the occasion and smell the playoff coffee by any means necessary this Sunday for their home fans.

The Wagiya football fans at this moment are wondering, what is the problem with our team.  Everybody was happy before the season started, because of the caliber of players we brought in; but Wagiya’s biggest problem was scoring goals. Wagiya played some very good games, games that they were supposed to win, but they are not scoring. The only thing the Wagiya fans need from our Wagiya players, is one victory this Sunday against the young and dangerous Altitude FC. If Wagiya plays Altitude FC the way they did against BDF a couple weeks ago at the MCC, they can win this game on Sunday; but they got to score goals! It won’t be easy; to make it more difficult, Elroy Kuylen, who was the playmaker throughout that game against BDF, will be out of action this Sunday against Altitude FC, because of 3 straight yellow cards. That means our home team got to bring out their best “A” game for 90 minutes. This is like a “do or die” for our home team Wagiya this Sunday.

Dangriga’s Carl Ramos Stadium will explode this Sunday! Ticket booth opens at 2:00 p.m.  Live drumming and Travelers’ half-time give-aways. WAGIYA 9 pts vs ALTITUDE FC 15 pts.  Also, it will be live on TNC.

NOTE: Freedom Fighters Valley Pride will host Placencia Assassins at the Carl Ramos Stadium at 7:30 p.m. this Saturday night.
