BELIZE CITY, Thurs. Oct. 29, 2020– A man whose body was found lying face-down in a puddle of mud on the morning of Monday, October 26, on the outskirts of Trio Village, Orange Walk, has been identified.  He is Rigoberto Albarenga, 43, a Belizean labourer of San Roman Village, Corozal District.

The deceased was identified by his daughter, Margaret Albarenga, 22, who resides in Yo Creek Village.

At around 7:00 that morning, police were called to an area on the outskirts of the village, where they found Albarenga’s body a short distance away from his bicycle.  Investigators indicated that apart from a small bump at the back of the dead man’s head, there was no other visible sign of violence.

A post-mortem exam was conducted on Albarenga’s body today, but up until press time, the cause of his death has not been shared with the media.
