Diana Jones, 34, found dead in Crooked Tree Lagoon

GeneralDiana Jones, 34, found dead in Crooked Tree Lagoon

CROOKED TREE, Belize District, Mon. Dec. 16, 2019– Diana Pott Jones, 34, a domestic of Pine Ridge, Crooked Tree, was found dead, tangled in a net in the Crooked Tree Lagoon at about 9:00 Saturday morning.

She was last seen in the lagoon area by the bridge at about 5:30 Friday evening. At the time she was seen, she was clothed in a pair of blue jeans pants and a red blouse, and villagers believed that she was going to swim.

Jones’ body was recovered and taken to the morgue. Police said that no signs of violence were visible on the body. The cause of her death will be certified by an autopsy scheduled to be carried out tomorrow.

A report to us, is that she was the mother of two children, who were taken over by her mother, and when her mother died, the children were taken over by her sister.

After marrying, she bore a third child who was taken over by her in-laws, which sent her into depression and she began to drink, a source to us said. The source told us that she began to complain of domestic abuse, but her husband denied the allegations. We were also told that on Friday, the day before she was found dead, she went to ask for her baby to take her home. The baby was about 9 months old, but the request was denied.

We were also told that, in addition to being deeply disturbed by the fact that she did not have custody of her children, she became depressed after the death of her mother.

Her friends said that she was a kind and friendly person.

On her Facebook page, Jones said, “2018 has been rough. I lost my best friend … my mom. It’s been a hard Christmas and it hurts like hell to not have u to bringing in the New Year with. I have nobody to laugh with me … Mommy, I miss u. I hope you are happy. I will always love you.”

Diana Jones Pott is survived by her 3 children and her husband.
