He was on the run for days after being accused of trying to kill Rivero Street resident Julius Gonzalez, 21, on September 12, almost a month ago, but on Wednesday, October 3, police took Ernest Sacasa, 24, a resident of Kraal Road, to the Belize City Magistrate’s Court, where he was charged with one count of attempted murder.
Sacasa appeared in front of Chief Magistrate, Margaret Gabb-McKenzie, where he was denied bail and remanded to the Hattieville Prison.
Sacasa now joins Glenford Williams, 18, a.k.a., “Campari,” who was charged on Tuesday of this week with attempted murder against Gonzalez.
According to police, Sacasa is the last of two suspects believed to have attacked Gonzalez in his yard on September 12.
Gonzalez told police that around 9:30 p.m. on that day, he was about to close his main door when a man came running into his yard and then into his house.
His attacker, a man he described as wearing a grey shirt and pants, had what appeared to be a handgun in his hands, said Gonzalez, and began firing at him.
