BELIZE CITY, Mon. July 23, 2018– Making way for the FIBA AmeriCup qualifying triangular last weekend at the Civic Center in Belize City, the Firms Basketball League had games only on Thursday night at Swift Hall, cancelling their previously scheduled Saturday games.

In the FBL opener on Thursday night, July 19, at Swift Hall, it was a blow-out, as Infotel easily disposed of Providers by a 102-52 margin. Top scorers for Infotel were Kirk Burgess 24 pts 24 rebs 7 assts, Andre Martinez 17 pts 8 assts, Russel Humes 13 pts 7 rebs, and Vince Lamb 10 pts; while Providers were led by Justin Bailey 18 pts 16 rebs 5 assts, and Rene Myvett 12 pts 7 rebs. And in the nightcap, it was Tuff E Nuff, 86-74, over BDF. Leading Tuff E Nuff were Douglas Valley 14 pts 9 rebs, Raheem Baptist 21 pts 8 rebs 4 stls, Russel Staine 16 pts 5 rebs, and Omar Tesecum 11 pts 9 rebs; while BDF had Shaquille Crawford with 18 pts 9 rebs 10 assts, Gerald Gillett 13 pts 5 rebs, Gregory Buckley 12 pts 14 rebs, and Raheem Zuniga 12 pts 10 rebs.
