SportsFFB and Belize mourn passing of Coach Leroy Sherrier Lewis

BELMOPAN, Wed. Sept. 15, 2021– The Football Federation of Belize (FFB) joins the football community in mourning the death of Coach Leroy Sherrier Lewis. Coach Sherrier Lewis, also known as “Profe,” touched the lives of many Belizean football players and was the coach who led the Jaguars to their historical qualification to the Gold Cup in 2013. He later returned to coach the Bandits for the Scotiabank Concacaf Champions League.

FFB President Sergio Chuc, his Executive team and the entire Management and Staff of the Football Federation of Belize join in sending condolences to his family and friends.

Coach Sherrier Lewis will always be remembered for the passion he demonstrated for the sport and for the impact he had on the lives of those he touched.

Forever a Jaguar! May he Rest In Peace!

– press release –

(AMANDALA Sports Ed. Note: After years of disgrace and disappointment with our national teams, new head coach Leroy Sherrier Lewis, a former Costa Rican national team player, gave us something to be proud of when we qualified to the Concacaf Gold Cup in 2013. He assessed our strengths and weaknesses, and got the best out of our team, which is the mark of a great coach. Thank you again, Coach Leroy Sherrier Lewis, and Rest In Peace. Belize will forever be grateful.)
