FFB President’s Cup Week 8 results

Two games each were played on Saturday and Sunday, July 5 and 6, in Week 8 of the FFB President’s Cup tournament.

On Saturday, at the Carl Ramos Stadium in Dangriga, Pomona United won, 4-2, over the visiting Estrellas FC from Toledo. Jevon Aranda (11’ & 90’), Luis Hernandez (31’) and Hilbert Banos (79’) shook the net for Pomona; while Ernest Lambey (33’) and Christopher Burke (38’) scored for Estrellas. Meanwhile, at the Norman Broaster Stadium in San Ignacio, it was the visiting Belize District Stars coming away with a 2-1 victory over Benque DC United, courtesy of two strikes from Carlos Lino (34’ & 72’); while Minor Galindo (74’) got the sole tally for Benque.

On Sunday, at the People’s Stadium in Orange Walk, home squad Progresso FC played to a 3-3 stalemate against visiting San Antonio FC from Corozal. Gabriel Perez (5’), Eliazar Itza (12’) and Alexander Diaz (27’) gave Progresso a commanding 3-0 lead; but San Antonio came back strong with goals from Russell Casanova (39’), Ian Daniels (82’) and Christian Valerio (88’) to secure the 3-3 draw. Meanwhile, at the Isidoro Beaton Stadium in Belmopan, it was another tough encounter, as Roaring Creek United and visiting Sagitun FC ended deadlocked at 1-1. Dellon Torres (19’) put the visitors in front, but Clifbann Neal (28’) equalized for Roaring Creek.
