BELMOPAN, Mon. June 13, 2016–The last game in the Simeon Lopez Kids, Youth and Female Cup 2016 Finals was completed on Sunday, June 12, at the Governor General Field. It had been postponed the week before due to rain. In the U-13 finals second leg, YWAM Valencia and Mountain View Revolution played to a 0-0 draw; but YWAM had won the first leg by a 1-0 margin, so they were declared the aggregate 1-0 winner and U-13 champions.

The award ceremony followed.

In the U-13 Kids category, 1st place went to YWAM Valencia; 2nd was Mountain View Revolution; and 3rd Piccini Rising Stars.

In the U-15 Youth category, 1st was San Martin Medina’s; 2nd was Mountain View Revolution; and 3rd Central Site Bandits.

And in the U-17 Female category, the champion was San Martin Medina’s; 2nd was Bmp Compre Flames; and 3rd Central Site Bandits.    For the individual awards:

U-13 Kids: Most Goals – Ricardo Galdamez & Allen Umana (Revolution); Best Goalkeeper – Jose Gonzalez (Revolution) & Jose Hernandez (Police Cadet); MVP – Javier Tobar (YWAM Valencia).

U-15 Youth: Most Goals – Robert Palma (Medina’s); Best Goalkeeper – Kenyon Lawrence (Bandits); MVP – Freddy Romero (Medina’s).

U-17 Female: Most Goals – Kiona Ara (Medina’s); Best Goalkeeper – Lynice Valencia (Medina’s); MVP – Tavie Bennette (Medina’s).

The Belmopan Football Association (BFA) once again says a big thank you to players, coaches, parents and fans who came out and supported the Simeon Lopez Kids, Youth and Female Cup 2016. The Mayor of Belmopan City Council, Mr. Kahlid Belisle; Councilor Angel Pastrana; Mr. Simeon Lopez; and Amilcar Umana who was on hand to issue individual awards, team medals and trophies.

We also want to say a big Thank You to Mr. Francisco Cuellar, Ms. Tricia Pelayo and Belmopan City Council Staff for all the logistics help to make this year’s tournament a success.
