GeneralFire partially destroys house on Mahogany Street

The house of Bokang “Prince” Nyathi, 48, located at the corner of Mahogany and Jasmine Streets, was destroyed by fire at about 3:20 this morning.

The house is a concrete bungalow and the interior of the house is completely destroyed, including all its contents, but the exterior is standing intact.

Fire officials, in an interview with Amandala, said that they received the fire call at about 3:30 this morning, and they quickly responded, and that the fire was completely out within 32 minutes.

The cause of the fire is not yet known, said the fire official, and an investigation has begun.

Nyathi said that his house had no electrical power, and that he had locked his house at 9:00 last night before going out, and upon his return at about 3:50 this morning, he found his house on fire and firemen fighting the blaze.

Nyathi said that his house was not insured. No one was injured in the calamity.
