The fires around power line posts

LettersThe fires around power line posts

Dear Editor,

Through this medium I would like to lodge a complaint about those who check the power line posts on the road sides.

We have a farm on the Northern Highway near the San Luis Cutoff, right before you enter San Jose Village. We noticed some guys checking the posts and a while later, the brushes around there were on fire. Since the bush around there is pretty dry, the fire spread quickly, engulfing the area in thick smoke, spreading panic among the few animals we have there. Luckily, they are few.

This is not a good practice to clear the area with fire around the line posts, since it endangers people and animals. Methinks it is even illegal to be starting brush fires. If we had lost anything, whom do we sue?

Regards,
Romel Cuello
