Football flashback Part 2: adding some names

SportsFootball flashback Part 2: adding some names

BELIZE CITY, Thurs. Apr. 16, 2020– As we promised in our kickoff effort in Amandala #3358 of Friday, April 3, 2020, this is “a work in progress,” and we are still at the preliminary stage of inviting fans to join us in adding “names of players you think worthy to mention as being among the better players of the different periods listed.” Already, in last issue for Friday, April 10, a fan from Cayo did just that; and this week we include those names along with some others we recalled. So, this week will be a continuation of the lists presented in our first edition on April 3. Where only a nickname is given, fans are invited to provide the official name. Many of the names listed will not have Hall of Fame credentials, but we take the opportunity to energize our flashback to those days by recalling footballers who come to mind. Indeed, we have included a few whose contribution was more their entertainment factor or unique personality, than necessarily their advanced football skills. Hopefully, the mention of their name rings a bell.
